We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing patient interactions, ensuring smooth operations within the medical office, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and administrative processes to provide exceptional patient care and support.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and providing information regarding services offered.
Schedule patient appointments and manage the calendar for healthcare providers efficiently.
Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details, medical history, and identification documents.
Process medical records accurately while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
Assist in coding procedures using DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and other relevant coding systems for billing purposes.
Manage medical billing and collections processes to ensure timely payments from patients and insurance companies.
Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to maintain accurate patient data.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate effective communication regarding patient care plans.
Provide support in handling medical collections and resolving billing discrepancies as needed.

Skills

Experience in medical billing and collections is highly desirable.
Familiarity with EMR and EHR systems to enhance operational efficiency.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient records.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
